Bible Study Prophets Lesson 1 Questions
1. The Old Testament is usually broken into four divisions; Law, History, Wisdom, and Prophets. How many books are in the prophet section? How are they usually divided? What is a general theme across all of the Prophets.
2. Explain the terms "Major & Minor prophets". Which books are included in which section? What do the terms mean?
3. Do some research on "non-writing" prophets. Explain the term. List some of the key none-writing prophets.
4. Who wrote Isaiah? When was it written? To whom was Isaiah writing? What is Isaiah’s theme? Theme verse?
5. How do many Bible scholars divide the book of Isaiah? How is this division similar to the Bible as a Whole? Discuss some of the different opinions about author/authors.
6. Do a sermon outline on Isaiah 5:1-7.
7. Do a sermon outline on Isaiah 6:1-8.
8. Do a sermon outline on Isaiah 53:1-12.
9. Relate Isaiah 53:1 to Romans 10:16?
10. Do some research on "Servant Songs in Isaiah". List the four sections of scripture in Isaiah that many Bible scholars refer to under this title. Give the key though in each section.
