God's wisdom Books Bible Study Lesson 4 Questions


1. Read Psalm 32 & 51. Do some research to see what different commentaries say about the situation that David was addressing with these Psalms.

2. Read 2 Sam chapters 11-16 for what most consider is the background for these Psalms. Give an overview of these chapters (situation).

3. Read Ps 32:3-4, Gen 3:6-13, and Gen 4:7. Explain any relationship you see.

4. Relate the terms fellowship, freedom, and forgiveness to this situation.

5. Does David have freedom to choose both his activities and his reactions during and after this situation? Explain.

6. What was the result of David's sin as explained by Psalm 32 & 51?

7. What solution did God provide when David approached God under God's terms?

8. Explain the steps to forgiveness as outlined in Ps 32 & 51.

9. Use the terms problem, plea, pardon, and promise to outline the situation as discussed in these two Psalms.

10. Do a sermon outline of the situation explained by 2 Sam 11-12, Ps 32, and Ps 51.
