Four Soils Ministry
Free Internet Bible School
Four Soils Ministry’s free online Bible School by way of the Internet is a very different from most you will encounter. It is intended to be that way. Four soils Ministry Bible school views the Bible as one story and that is about Jesus and Him crucified. The Bible is a unified story that is revealed in a progressive way as we sequentially progress through the Bible starting in book of Genesis and ending in book of Revelation.
The Bible starts with the statement in the beginning God created. However, we will discover that before creation not only did God exist, but He foreknew of all things from eternity past until eternity future. Because of this foreknowledge He knew before creation that Adam, Eve, you and I would sin, therefore the Bible says that He established (foreodained) a plan of Jesus’ crucifixion before the world was created and kept it a mystery for thousands of years.
Every course from Four Soils Ministry's free online Bible School is center around Jesus and Him crucified. Four Soils Ministry's free Bible School points the student to free resources on the Internet needed to prepare sermons, Bible lessons, and to prepare one to offer Christian counseling.
The Bible explains this plan/mystery. It does it by God revealing Himself and His covenant relationship with man a little by little as He progressively reveals Himself through His written revelation. As we approach the Bible in this manner we will encounter thoughts/ideas that challenge out previous understanding. This is good because we need to know what we believe about God and His Word and why we believe it.
Four Soils Ministry's FREE online Bible School Program starts with Genesis and moves sequentially through the Bible with a focus on Jesus. Each lesson contains only ten questions encouraging quick turnaround.
Each student enrolled in the FREE online Bible school is assigned an instructor for questions, encouragement, and feedback using the Internet. This one-on-one approach adds a touch of the classroom while allowing a student to advance at their own rate of speed.
Approaching God’s Word in this manner you will discover as I did that there is more than one way of understandings God’s Word. As we start to evaluate our beliefs we will see how much we have been influence by the opinions of other men.
Everything you read such as a study Bible’s footnotes, a commentary, or a packaged Bible study has been influence by the writer’s theology. Four Soils Ministry’s Bible School has been influenced by certain schools of theology and we will attempt to show where and why this is so. However, it is our desire to enable you to take off your theological filters and allow the Holy Spirit to lead you to Biblical truth. To do this we must expose you to a number of different schools of theology and how they influence the interpretation of the major Biblical themes.
Over the years a number of major schools of thought on Bible interpretation have evolved. Some of the ones we will investigate are;
Dispensation Theology (Dispensationalism)
Covenant Theology
Biblical Theology
Systematic Theology
Practical Theology
Calvinism
Arminianism
As the students progress through the FREE Bible study they will be addressing each of these more directly.
The free Bible school lesson asks questions that require meditation. Joshua 1:8 says that we are to meditate upon the word of God continually. The purpose of these questions are a way of suggesting that you meditate upon chapters 1-11 of Genesis and see examples of some of the Bible’s major themes or doctrines. As you mediate upon these verses you will be forming opinions about key doctrines, make a note to yourselves and compare your opinions to what you have learned about dispensationalism.
As we look at some of the other theologies above I will be asking you to reevaluate your views on these key doctrines in light of what you come to understand of these theologies. It is my belief based upon personal experience that you will find there are pros and cons of each and that none of these theologies line up with Scripture as a whole.
Jesus said in Luke 24:25-27, "You are such foolish people! You find it so hard to believe all that the prophets wrote in the Scriptures. Wasn't it clearly predicted by the prophets that the Messiah would have to suffer all these things before entering his time of glory?" Then Jesus quoted passages from the writings of Moses and all the prophets, explaining what all the Scriptures said about himself (nlt).
It is my belief that as we continue to focus on Jesus and the cross we will come to understand Romans 11:36 “For of him, and through him, and to him, [are] all things: to whom [be] glory for ever. Amen.”
Four Soils Ministry's online Bible School like Paul wants to proclaim nothing but Jesus and Him crucified.
